The prize that kept on giving

“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.”
― Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

You may remember that a while back, we asked our clients, members, lendees and contacts to take part in a Survey. And that we offered a £50 co-operative bookshop voucher as a prize, to be drawn at random from all completed surveys.

The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that when we wrote about our Annual Survey results, we mentioned that the winner of the voucher wished to remain anonymous. Well, we’re impressed and thrilled to announce now, with permission, that the winner, Rob Stark, of the Fox and Hounds Community Co-op, Denmead, is not only happy to be named but doubled their prize and donated it further to Denmead Junior School

Head teacher Andy Clarke says,

“Our new library was lacking books about diversity and was not fully reflective of our broader community. We used the £100 donation to buy a range of titles that came recommended, that better showed our children the diversity and equality of modern life living in today’s Britain. The titles have also been helpful in supporting our Personal Development curriculum and are a lovely addition to our literary offer. A massive thank you to Rob, and Co-op and Community Finance for providing us with the funds to enable this to happen.”

We are so pleased and proud to be part of this story – especially at this time of year!
