Hello from Kevin Lloyd-Evans, our NEW Lending & Relationship Manager

We are delighted to introduce Kevin Lloyd-Evans, our NEW Lending & Relationship Manager. Kevin is taking over from Ian Rothwell and has already enjoyed his first few weeks with us.

Hello everyone!

I have recently joined Co-operative & Community Finance (CCF), January 2022, having previously worked for Big Issue Invest (BII) for eight years. At BII I was part of a very successful team of six people, leading on sub £250K lending across the UK, covering several sectors and loans to both small and large enterprise. Prior to BII I worked for UnLtd (The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs) for ten years, primarily on early-stage investments of both grant and repayable finance, supporting social enterprises to access finance.

Lessons Learned

In my 18 years of experience working in repayable finance I have learnt that ‘people’ are the most important element. People drive businesses. Financials are clearly important, they can never be understated, but people – their lived experience, motivations, skills-sets, networks and aspirations are the DNA of successful repayable finance. Finance providers themselves have to be open, willing to listen, transparent, honest and committed to social value.

Why Cooperative & Community Finance (CCF)?

It is an excellent organisation, with a long history (50th Year in 2023) and a strong tradition of value-based lending. Co-op values and principles | Co-operativesUK  The staff and governance teams are great, with talented and commitment people. CCF is well respected in the sector. It has a reputation for being an authentic lender, providing supportive client engagement and as a no-nonsense lender.

Hopes & Aspirations

I am hoping to continue the legacy of Ian Taylor and Ian Rothwell.  I would like to utilise my experience of supportive investment, to ensure we offer the best possible value to our client base. I believe we have a great client offer at CCF now and have opportunities to build upon. The repayable finance landscape is changing and has changed over the past ten years, there are many opportunities for CCF to take advantage of. I relish the opportunity to help Co-ops and Community Businesses  access the finance they need, on terms which they a can afford.
