Celebrating ICOF 50th birthday – looking back at our loans – Essential Trading

Essential Trading are a wholefoods co-op specialising in vegan and vegetarian foods. 

They also distribute ecological household products and cruelty-free toiletries, and have been doing so for over 50 years. They also offer a click and collect service, and even wholesale at Glastonbury each year!

In Dec 2010 we supported them to buy a new warehouse and manufacturing equipment, refit two retail shops and get a new walk in fridge.

They supply Cafe Kino who were wrote about recently and we’ll be sharing an interview with one of the team in the not too distant future.

This photo features Jaspa who sadly passed away a few years ago. He was a much loved member of Essential and the co-operative movement, and is much missed.
