FREE Centre for Sustainable Energy and Social Investment Business Webinars
From the 19th March to the 14th of May, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and Social Investment Business are hosting a series of webinars introducing the Energy Resilience Fund to organisations operating in key market sectors.
The Energy Resilience Fund is a blended funding package of loan (60%) and grant (40%) to bolster the energy resilience of eligible charities and social enterprises in England, which is available through Co-op & Community Finance in partnership with Social Investment Business.
These online sessions aim to introduce the fund to eligible organisations and explain key energy efficient retrofit measures. Organisations can dip in and out so don’t have to commit to every session and further details will be provided with the sign up information on the content of each session next week.

Intro to Retrofit : Thursday 19th March, 12.30 – 1.30pm
This introductory session will explain the basics of energy retrofit and how changes to your building can help reduce energy costs, cut carbon emissions and improve comfort for staff and service users. We’ll look at key energy efficiency measures and how they can be applied to buildings used by charities and social enterprises. We’ll also outline how the Energy Resilience Fund can support organisations to plan and deliver improvements, and what to expect from an energy audit.
Retrofit relevant to your building: Wednesday 25th March, 12.30-1.15pm
Different buildings can vary widely in how they use and lose energy. This session will explore how types of buildings can affect energy performance and what this can mean when considering energy efficiency improvements. The webinar will help organisations start thinking about the opportunities and challenges within their own buildings.
Low carbon heating – including a case study from an ERF investee: Thursday 16th April, 12.30-1.15pm
Heating is often one of the biggest sources of energy use in buildings. This webinar introduces low carbon heating options such as heat pumps and other systems, explaining how they work and when they might be suitable. We’ll highlight key considerations when thinking about heating systems and how they can sit alongside other energy saving measures.
Renewable Energy Generation – including a case study from an ERF investee: Thursday 30th April, 12.30-1.15pm
This webinar will introduce renewable energy generation and how it can support organisations to reduce their reliance on grid energy. We’ll explore the role that on-site renewable technologies can play as part of a broader approach to energy efficiency and sustainability.
Electric vehicles – including a case study from an ERF investee: Thursday 14th May, 12.30-1.15pm
