Open now: Carbon Innovation Fund from the Co-op Foundation
Apply for the Co-op Foundation new Carbon Innovation Fund until Friday 10th December
Our colleagues at the Co-op Foundation launched a new fund on Monday 22 November to support food and farming projects that are tackling the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
This three-year, £3m Carbon Innovation Fund is a partnership between the Foundation and the Co-op. The funding has been donated by the Co-op through the sale of compostable carrier bags in the UK, with the remainder coming from the Foundation own funds.
They plan to award funding of between £75k and £100k to about 10 projects in year one. Eligible organisations will include charities, social enterprises, co-operatives and local, regional and national governments worldwide.
The fund launch is the latest in a number of green initiatives that the Co-op Foundation has funded, including Heeley Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, Co-operative Alternatives and Cynnal Cymru (Sustain Wales).
Read more in the Guidance Notes and check out the Foundation’s IVAR commitments to find out how they fund and work with their partners.
